The Christmas Tree Wrasse Project

Wow! Long time peeps! How have you been? I hope Uh-mazing !! So much has happened since my last post! I’m not even sure where to begin……..How about with current events and updates lol

So first…Big updates coming your way!! Hope you are ready!!

Number 1 : Remember Milli the baby fish – Welp she’s all growed up 😥 She is doing her job keeping the tank as clean as she can. We are proud of our grand-fishy ❤❤

Number 2 : The new babies went from 25 to 9 but the 9 are doing amazing. We just released them into the tank from the breeder basket. Nobody ate them! *fun fact* – or not so fun, fish don’t understand baby fish so they may mistake them for food, this is why they were in a breeder basket until they were big enough.

Number 3 : That momma fish, whos name is Snow, she is pregnant AGAIN!!! Yup we are expecting our third batch of baby mollies!! Whoop, Whoop! Funny story about her. We saw that her stomach was gi-normous so we put her in a breeder basket so that when she gives birth the other fish can’t eat them. However the mother fish will eat her babies too so we had to go to the store to get a basket that drops the babies into a seperate compartment. She somehow flipped the basket. No idea how or why but she did. So we put her into a different basket and guess what….. another Mollie got in the basket 🤦‍♀️ once we got the other Mollie out of the basket we went to bed. When Kraig woke up he found her out of the basket and the basket stuck on the power head …smh…, again no idea how or why. Lol I feel like she was trying to tell us something!

And……In Other News Baby Jade and Milli have been moved to a new home again! Why you ask? Wellllllll…. we may have a “small” problem….like super teeny tiny …… ok, ok, we are obsessed fish owners, what can I say (head hanging low)(eyes adverted) !!! During a recent trip to the LFS, our favorite store, we may have purchased a fish we weren’t there for! Not an unusual thing mind you lol. But that purchase ment we had to upgrade our 27 gallon tank into a 46 gallon tank. Quite ironically it is the first tank we started. So here we are full circle. This would normally be a bad thing but for us it was a perfectly-perfect idea!

Here we are The Christmas Tree Wrasse Project begins. With the help of 3 out of the 5 kids, Kraig set up the 46 gallon tank. This involves lots of water and mixing in the salt and moving all the fish, snails, hermits and corals over. Plus the clean up. It’s cray-cray but that’s the easy part. Remember I said we went to the fish store and got a fish we weren’t suppose to get. Her name is Holly she is a Christmas Tree Wrasse. We also got a fire fish, his name is Blaze and we got our flutterbug Emerald a girlfriend, her name is Kiwi.

So lots of personality was purchased. Holly right away dove under the sand. Emerald and Kiwi are still figuring each other out but both alive (which is a plus) lol *fun fact*- With two mandarins even if one is male and the other female and same species, there is only a 50% chance they will love each other. The other 50% they could kill each other. So last night was a nail bitter and sleeping was difficult. Luckily we woke up to all our new fish alive and well 💗
