Hey ya’ll!! I have decided in light of keeping this blog interesting I’m going to fast forward ahead sometimes!! I promise to return to the story here and there. I’m just thinking of you 😘 I don’t want you to get bored with me!!,
Can I just start by asking “Does anyone else name their fish?” I feel like these are my babies, like ya know part of the family so they need names!
We currently have 19 fish, a cleaner shrimp and an extensive clean up crew, consisiting of snails, hermits and an emerald crab. The shrimp and clean up crew are not named because we literally have 100’s of snails and hermits. Today I am also going to introduce you to one or more of our eccentric fishies!
First their names and species :
- Nemo and Marlin – our clown fish
- Dory – blue hippo tang
- Flash – yellow tang
- Moe – lawnmower blenny
- Star – banggai cardinalfish
- Royal – royal grammar
- Emerald and Jade – our mandarins ❤
- Opal – orange back fairy wrasse
- Diamond – Triplespot wrasse
- Cobalt – cleaner wrasse
- Future and Destiny – our green chromis
- Snow, Widow, Onyx, Spot and our newest edition (screeches with excitement) Milli ❤ – our Mollies (stop that there are no favorites) *wink, wink*
Another thing I want to point out is not only do we name our fish but we also talk to them and try to guess what they would say back! Yeah so basically I have a conversation all by myself …..sooooooo!! I’m not crazy you’re crazy!! Uh (holds it together) anyway they have their own little voices, some of them are girls, some are boys. Since you can’t tell on most fish which they are, we decided it for them. I mean, it’s possible, there may be some confused fish swimming around the tank but so what 😛 !!!
So the question is who do I introduce to you first? Hmmmm do we start with silly or serious? Smart or not quite bright? Cute or pretty?
Ok the decision wasn’t easy but we went with the pretty and unique Diamond !!
Funny, quick story about her is that at one time we thought we paid $160 for her …….. Let’s just say it was scary getting her home from the LFS lol
Anyway if you couldnt tell from the picture she is super pretty!!! She is shy and basically keeps to herself. Being a wrasse she is an omnivore (or at least ours is). One thing I can tell you about all our fish they are not true to their nature, not-a-one lol
This beauty has a really cool trick that actually made us think that we lost her the first day! I honestly sat in my room an cried because I thought she was dead. We even took the whole tank apart to try and find her. We never did. Until later on the next day she just appeared out of nowhere. Poof! Magic! Fish! Enough said….well not actually!
Oh right, her trick she hides and sleeps under the sand!!! It’s super crazy to watch and awesome!!! I’m not kidding buries her entire body under the sand!!
